Village of Western Springs New Satellite Fire Station
Tuesday, August 17th, 2010After much planning, Sigalos breaks ground on the new 7,000 sq. ft. fire station. Located on the corner of a residential subdivision, the fire station was designed with a residential style to blend in with the surrounding area. A portion of the funding for this project is from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and State Representative Jim Durkin was in attendance at the ground breaking ceremony.

Lyons Township North & South Campus Remodeling
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010After being the successful low bidder out of 16 general contractors bidding, Sigalos was awarded the 2010 North & South Campus Remodeling project for Lyons Township High School District 204. The project consists of total renovations to the chemistry labs and counseling office area at the North Campus, and extensive renovations of the locker rooms at the south campus. Construction will begin in late May, 2010, and will be completed in August, 2010.

Graphic Arts Technology Relocation Project
Monday, July 27th, 2009Sigalos & Associates starts construction at College of DuPage for the Graphic Arts Technology Relocation project. This project entails a complete gut and remodel of approximately 12,000 sq. ft. in the McAninch Art Center. The space was previously used for the Dental Hygiene program, and is now being renovated for the Graphic Arts Technology program. The new layout will include classrooms, open lab space, offices, output center, and storage rooms. Construction will take place throughout the fall semester, and is scheduled for completion in December, 2009 ahead of the spring semester.

Chicago 16″ Softball Hall of Fame Unveiled
Sunday, July 19th, 2009An estimated 100 Hall of Famers and 1,000 guests attended the unveiling of the Chicago 16” Softball Hall of Fame in Forest Park, which Sigalos & Associates constructed. This project consisted of an outdoor plaza with brick pavers engraved by donors, display cases and precast concrete bats and softball. The crowd erupted when State Senator of the 5th District Rickey Hendon announced that the state would commit $500,000 for the phase two indoor 16” Softball Hall of Fame Museum. Channels 7 and 9 aired stories on the evening broadcasts for this event. After the ribbon cutting ceremony and unveiling of the display cases, there was a Hall of Fame and Celebrity softball game at the adjacent field.

Nick Sigalos and Colin Moss LEED Accredited
Monday, February 9th, 2009Sigalos & Associates is proud to announce the professional accreditation of Nick Sigalos and Colin Moss in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®). Both Nick and Colin have proven that they are dedicated to the responsibility and challenge of “going green” in the construction industry. John Sigalos Awarded for 20 year Builders Association Membership
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008John Sigalos accepted an award on behalf of Sigalos & Associates, Ltd at the Builders Association of Greater Chicago Annual Meeting for being a member of the Builders Association for 20 years. The meeting also included a presentation by Chicago 2016 CEO Patrick Ryan in which he discussed how the 2016 Olympic games could impact the local construction industry should Chicago be selected. The city will find out in October if it will host the games.

Wheaton Memorial Student Center Renovations awarded LEED SILVER
Monday, December 8th, 2008It’s official, the Memorial Student Center Renovations at Wheaton College project has been awarded a LEED SILVER certification by the United States Green Building Council. This project included a complete renovation of the existing 3-story, 18,000 sq. ft. Memorial Student Center building, consisting of complete interior demolition and all new construction, including a new elevator, all new plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC and electrical systems. The first floor includes the J. Dennis Hastert Center and library for his congressional papers. Green building strategies utilized on this project resulted in an energy savings of over 27%.
