Chicago 16″ Softball Hall of Fame Unveiled
An estimated 100 Hall of Famers and 1,000 guests attended the unveiling of the Chicago 16” Softball Hall of Fame in Forest Park, which Sigalos & Associates constructed. This project consisted of an outdoor plaza with brick pavers engraved by donors, display cases and precast concrete bats and softball. The crowd erupted when State Senator of the 5th District Rickey Hendon announced that the state would commit $500,000 for the phase two indoor 16” Softball Hall of Fame Museum. Channels 7 and 9 aired stories on the evening broadcasts for this event. After the ribbon cutting ceremony and unveiling of the display cases, there was a Hall of Fame and Celebrity softball game at the adjacent field.
