Wheaton Memorial Student Center Renovations awarded LEED SILVER
It’s official, the Memorial Student Center Renovations at Wheaton College project has been awarded a LEED SILVER certification by the United States Green Building Council. This project included a complete renovation of the existing 3-story, 18,000 sq. ft. Memorial Student Center building, consisting of complete interior demolition and all new construction, including a new elevator, all new plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC and electrical systems. The first floor includes the J. Dennis Hastert Center and library for his congressional papers. Green building strategies utilized on this project resulted in an energy savings of over 27%.
