2008 Bus Maintenance Facility Site Renovation for Palatine High School –
This project consisted of a large addition and complete renovation of the existing bus maintenance facility used to service all of the school buses within the district. This project was phased to construct the addition with the owner occupying the adjacent existing space, while also completing extensive site work, including steel canopies, all new site utilities and paving. While the existing building was fully occupied, the steel roof structure overhead was raised 4 ft. by extending the steel columns and installing new steel bar joists, decking and roof structure above. Upon completion of the Phase 1 new addition, the owner personnel moved in to the new addition so that the Phase 2 existing building renovations could be completed, which consisted of entirely new floor slabs, vehicle lifts with foundations, exterior walls and completely new MEP systems. The existing roof structure was also demolished and removed from the inside as part of the Phase 2 renovation work.
